Have you checked whether the property has an official or direct booking site?
Have you checked whether the same stay appears on major booking sites?
Have you compared the final total, not just the headline price?
Have you checked cleaning fees, service fees, resort fees and local taxes?
Have you compared cancellation terms across routes?
Have you checked payment timing: pay now, pay later, deposit or pay at property?
Have you checked loyalty, rewards, wallet credit or member rates?
Have you checked direct-booking perks such as breakfast, upgrades, parking or late checkout?
Have you verified the booking site is legitimate, secure and not a clone?
Have you saved or screenshotted the final price, fees and cancellation terms before paying?
A note on neutrality. Direct is not always cheaper. OTAs are not always worse. The right booking route depends on final price, fees, cancellation, payment timing, loyalty value, trust, support and the traveller's preferences.
